Weathervane Wednesday ~ Two above a restaurant and microbrewery

It's Weathervane Wednesday!

I post a series of weather vane photographs every Wednesday.  This started with images of weathervanes from the Londonderry, New Hampshire area, but now I've found interesting weather vanes all across New England and across the globe.  Sometimes my weather vanes are whimsical, or historical, but all are interesting.  Often my readers tip me off to some very unique or unusual weathervanes, too!  If you know a great weather vane near you, let me know if you'd like to have it featured on this blog.

Today's weather vanes are from a reader, and they were photographed in New Hampshire.

Do you know the location of weathervane post #305?  Scroll down to find the answer.

An old dairy truck labeled "Throwback"
Today's weather vanes were photographed by June Stearns Butka at the Throwback Brewery in North Hampton, New Hampshire.  You might know this from the former location on Lafayette Road next door to Water Country.  This brewery is inside the historic 1860s Hobbs Farm barn, which is now covered with solar panels that power the brewery inside.

The original three dimensional weather vanes are still located on the cupolas above the barn.  A pig and donkey greet you here.  I think this is the first time I've seen a donkey weathervane, but I've photographed dozens of horse weather vanes.  This donkey is named "Jericho" and he represents a donkey that lived at this farm for many years.

These weathervanes were sculpted by local copper artisan Don Felix.  The TV show "Handcrafted in America" at the INSP network featured his art on this show in January of this year.  You can read more about Don and his weather vanes at this link:
